We’re looking for a practical and handy Assistant Caretaker to help keep our Chapter House in great condition. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys light home repair projects, painting, and lending a hand to make sure our community space is safe, welcoming, and vibrant.What You’ll DoAssist with light painting, touch-ups, and general upkeep.Help with small home repair tasks (fixing doors, patching, tightening, etc.).Support seasonal projects to maintain the beauty and functionality of the Chapter House.Ensure our gathering space stays ready for meetings, gallery openings, and community events.What We’re Looking ForSomeone handy and willing to take on small home repair and upkeep tasks.No special skills required—just a willingness to learn and contribute.Flexible commitment—about 3–6 hours per month, with seasonal variation.A collaborative spirit and pride in caring for a community space.What You’ll GainExperience in light maintenance and home care.A welcoming community to work alongside.The satisfaction of keeping a historic community hub vibrant and functional.A chance to see your efforts immediately reflected in a space used by many.

From the beginning, our chapter played a pioneering role in participatory science, water quality monitoring, and habitat restoration—efforts that shaped the IWLA’s reputation nationally.In the 1960s, we relocated to a scenic property in the Minnesota River Valley to more directly engage in local ecosystem conservation.
