What is Adaptive Riding: The Adaptive Riding program invites youth who have a unique physical or mental health diagnosis. Youth build core strength, communication skills, and social skills as well as benefit from emotional enrichment of therapeutic riding and equine-assisted learning. What to Expect:Volunteers walk alongside the horse and rider to give them physical stability and verbal encouragement. ·Gain an understanding of the horse-human connection and the benefit of adaptive riding. ·Gain comfort in relating to others with special needs.·Experience the benefit of encouraging others and see progress in their rider.·Learn individual roles and responsibilities within the team.·Practice healthy boundaries, self-awareness, and situational awareness.No horse experience required. Trinity provides a 2-hour beginner training prior to participating in sessions.
