Yet, many third graders in our area schools test below proficient for on-track readiness. By volunteering as a Reading Coach for Kids, you can help improve these students' reading abilities, boost their academic success, and make a lasting impact on their future.What is Reading Coaches for Kids?Reading Coaches for Kids, coordinated through AmeriCorps Seniors Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), is a volunteer tutoring program designed to increase students' reading abilities and academic success by providing volunteers aged 18 and older who read individually or in small groups with students in Brown County public schools Kindergarten through 5th grade during the regular school year and summer school.Who Can Volunteer?This program is open to individuals aged 18 and older, with a special emphasis on those aged 55+ who are interested in being part of the intergenerational experiences that make Reading Coaches for Kids so impactful.
