Compeer is seeking individuals interested in supporting our mission to reduce isolation and loneliness for adults living with mental health issues by serving on our Advisory Board.Advisory Board members meet together once a month, assist with fundraising, and make presentatons to local community groups.We are looking for eager, engaging members who hold a passion for mental health and an interest in nonprofit programs. About Compeer of Johnson County
You and your new friend will spend about an hour together once a week (or 2 hours every two weeks). We need volunteers of all ages, minimum 23 years old. Training, ongoing education and support are provided by the Compeer staff.Compeer volunteers make a positive difference in someone’s life. Your friendship provides a sense of connection and companionship for yourself and for your match friend. Each person has gained a new friend with whom to enjoy and explore different aspects of life, learn from, and grow with."When I am out with my friend, I feel I am part of what is happening in a busy world and I am not alone.
