Help Children with Hearing Impairments with Homework in Tuen Mun

Description: Hong Kong Society for the Deaf strives towards improving education for hearing-impaired children and supporting their families.
Volunteer roles:
Volunteers work directly with a group of three to four students to guide them through homework and to enhance their learning motivations. This allows students to consolidate their learning and further their studies.
Background of the students:
1. Age: 5-12 (Primary 1-6 & Secondary 1)
2. Special needs:
All of them have moderate to severe level of hearing-impairment. Some children have different SEN conditions, e.g. hyperactivity disorder, autism
Volunteer Requirements:
Cantonese speakers aged 16/+ who can read/write traditional Chinese and English.
Be patient when communicating with children.
All volunteers must be registered with HandsOn Hong Kong. Friends or family members must also register and sign up separately.
Minimum age: 16.
