About Hearts and Hands

Hearts and Hands is a non-profit organization that matches caring volunteers with older community members who have essential needs, like transportation, to ensure that they can continue living independently. The organization, founded in 2003, provides services to underserved areas in Western New York. Our program is a "best efforts" program operated by volunteers, and there is no charge for delivery of services. Our focus is on services that foster socialization, increase physical activity, enhance nutrition, and provide access to medical, dental and other health services. If we cannot provide a requested service, we will refer that request to an agency that is able to meet the person's need. We work closely with the Alzheimer Association, Meals on Wheels, the Erie Co. Dept. of Senior Services, local first responders, and other area service providers. Currently, the organization serves Erie and Eastern Niagara Counties.
