Lunch Outing Volunteers

Our members go out to lunch at different restaurants within the Greater Rochester Area and we are looking for volunteers that can assist our staff in getting our members when they go on outings. The type of help needed is assisting members in and out of the restaurants by holding doors, pushing wheelchairs, reading the menus, help order while at the restaurant, and joining in on conversation. All meals are provided by the Friendly Home. We have the volunteers meet at, the friendly Home at 10;15 AM and the usual return time is between 1-2PM. For each outing, volunteers assist the several staff members; and meals and transportation are provided by the Friendly Home.

The Friendly Home, founded in 1849, is a skilled nursing home in Brighton providing 24-hour care, rehabilitation, memory care and hospice care. We are a non-profit, non-denominational, mission-driven organization devoted to providing the highest quality care and services for our residents, whom we refer to as Members to foster a sense of belonging and community.The Friendly Home is part of the Friendly Senior Living continuum of care which also includes Cloverwood Senior Living, an active independent living community in Pittsford; Glenmere at Cloverwood, which offers assisted living, enhanced assisted living and memory care; Linden Knoll, an independent senior living apartment community in Brighton; and the Lovejoy Transitional Care Center which provides short-term rehabilitative care.
