The time and talents of many enable our ministry to continue. Trained volunteers assist with bedside care, property maintenance, clerical responsibilities, public relations and fundraising.Volunteers are our greatest resource! A warm welcome awaits those who offer their help. Introductory visits and training for those interested occur regularly. Since 24 hour care is provided, the hours are very flexible.
About The Advent House
We are a comfort care home which provides for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the dying in a loving homelike setting. We affirm the dying person's dignity, encouraging them to participate in determining what would most enhance their quality of life.Staff and volunteers, in conjunction with a certified home health agency and the resident's physician, provide individualized holistic care. We believe comfort can be maintained as death approaches in a supportive setting of and personalized care.We are a two bed home for the dying who have been medically determined to be in the last three months of their lives. Admission is based solely on need regardless of religion, age, sex, race or the ability to pay. There are no fees.
