Do you enjoy helping others learn new digital skills? Become a Digital Literacy Volunteer at Herkimer Basloe Library and provide one-on-one support to individuals who want to become more comfortable using technology.Assist community members with essential digital skills, such as accessing the web, completing online forms and applications, and navigating everyday software tools.Offer patient, personalized guidance to those who have limited access to or experience with technology.Help community members build confidence, stay informed, and feel more connected in today’s digital world.LiteracyCNY currently has Digital Literacy Volunteers at over a dozen community locations across Onondaga County, and we continue to grow each year with the support of our partner sites. Your time and skills can help bridge the digital divide in our community.

About LiteracyCNY

Through the use of one-to-one tutoring, small group classes, conversation groups, drop-in or appointment-based computer help, and online learning tools and resources LiteracyCNY uses volunteers to help members of the community to increase their skills in reading, math, English language, and digital literacy so that they are able to fully engage in life as parents, workers, consumers, and citizens.Please note: All volunteers must be at least 18 years old, fluent in English, and have completed high school or the equivalent. Tutoring opportunities are available in Onondaga County. Digital Literacy Volunteer opportunities are available in Onondaga, Madison, Oneida, and Herkimer Counties.
