The Hudson Valley CASH Coalition along with AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program is seeking Volunteer Tax Counselors to assist low-moderate income individuals, seniors and family file their tax returns.Volunteers who have some experience in personal tax preparation will enjoy working with a team of dedicated community members who ensure those that need it most are provided support to ensure they receive all the refunds and credits they are entitled to. Increase your own personal talents while helping your local community.Volunteers are provide the option of in-person or virtual training to prepare them for this role. Training covers tax software application and IRS & NYS tax law. Volunteers in the role of tax counselor are required to past certification test administered by the IRS.Tax preparation sites located throughout Dutchess Orange and Putnam Counties an open from Feb - April. Volunteers can expect to commit to at least 5-6 hours a week during tax season.Others opportunities include IT Support, Client Facilitator, Program Promotion, Appointment Scheduling, and Marketing
