Become a volunteer for CASA of Southern Maryland.CASA of Southern Maryland's mission is is to provide every child in Southern Maryland (Charles, Calvert and St. Mary's Counties) who has experienced abuse and/or neglect with a trained volunteer to collaborate and advocate in the best interest of the child to ensure that every child has a safe and permanent home in which they can thrive.CASA volunteers are individuals from all walks of life, from a variety of professional, educational and ethnic backgrounds. No special experience, education or background is required; only the desire to help our community’s children and families.
About CASA of Southern Maryland - St. Mary's, Calvert, and Charles County
CASA of Southern Maryland is a program of the Center for Children which provides comprehensive mental health and advocacy services to children and families. We currently have thirty-five volunteers and serve over fifty children. Our goal is to maintain a roster of sixty active volunteers and serve 100% of the children adjudicated a Child in Need of Assistance (CINA) due to abuse and/or neglect and referred to the CASA program.
