PurposeThis position is responsible for supporting coordination between the Red Cross and MTF, building a sustainable volunteer team of both licensed and non-licensed volunteers to work within the MTF and serve as a leader for the volunteers and our military partners.ResponsibilitiesSupports and acts on behalf of the local Red CrossEnsure all potential MTF volunteers are registered with the local Red Cross unit, receive training on base, are assisted with placement, and receive information on volunteer opportunities with the Regional Red Cross office.Act as liaison between the MTF and the local Red CrossPromote the recruitment of volunteers and donations of material resources in accordance with facility needsAttend and participate in meetings as neededFacilitate volunteer placement in coordination with the MTF Program Manager and workplace supervisor and assist MTF staff when an affiliated volunteer must be removed for causeMaintain records and submit reports as required by the Red CrossTime Commitment8-10 hours weekly, spread out over 2+ days per week. - In-PersonSome flexibility is required.Volunteering options are Monday through Friday during regular business hours.COVID Vaccination Required (Fully, 2 weeks after 2nd dose)QualificationsMilitary base access is a plus for Ft Meade, Ft Belvoir, and QuanticoMilitary base access required for 436 Medical Group, DoverMust be at least 21 years of ageMust be a permanent resident or US citizenBroad understanding of the American Red Cross and its opportunities for volunteer serviceSuccessfully achieve a Red Cross background checkBasic computer and organizational skillsAbility to communicate and work with other leaders in a management team relationshipAbility to show initiative and work independentlyProgram management experience
