20th Step Up for Down Syndrome 5K & Family Festival Volunteer Opportunity

To benefit the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and their families through individual and family support, education, community awareness, and advocacy.

We envision a community in which individuals with Down syndrome are fully included and valued members.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
You are invited to volunteer for the Virginia Down Syndrome Association.(VDSA's) 20th Annual Step UP for Down Syndrome 5K & Family Festival on Saturday, October 24, 2026! This exciting community event helps raise funds for VDSA's programs, while promoting awareness and acceptance of individuals with Down Syndrome. The event will be held rain or shine at The beautiful Dorey Park in Henrico. Many volunteers are needed to support this event, including before, during, and after the festivities (numerous shifts available). Volunteers age 13 and older on the day of their shift are welcome to express interest. All volunteers will receive a free T-shirt.
This opportunity is a referral and is managed by Down Syndrome Association directly. Please express interest below to indicate to the agency your interest in participating.
All volunteers who plan to attend must express interest. This includes youth. If the post indicates adults must be present, youth and adults must register using the team functionality.
