Event Planning Committee for Annual Fundraising Event

Brief Organizational Description:
Our mission is to support the residents of Richmond’s East End community and educate its children, equipping them to serve as positive contributors to their family, community, and society.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
Join our Event Planning Committee and help bring our signature annual fundraising event, Purple with a Purpose, to life. As a committee member, you will collaborate with a dedicated team to plan and execute every detail of the event, from creative vision to day-of logistics-with an emphasis on fundraising. Your efforts will directly support our mission and ensure guests have a memorable, impactful experience.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Attend one-hour, monthly committee meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at 9:30am.
Collaborate with fellow members to develop the event theme, layout, fundraising goals, and program flow.
Contribute ideas and support planning for event features, including: Wine Pull, Raffle, Silent Auction, and Fund-the-Mission segment
Assist in securing donated items, sponsorships, and resources for fundraising activities.
Support event marketing efforts by helping promote the event within your networks.
Coordinate with staff and volunteers to ensure smooth execution on event day.
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
Enthusiasm for event planning and fundraising.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Creativity and willingness to contribute ideas.
Commitment to attend monthly meetings and participate in event-related tasks.
Prior event planning or fundraising experience is a plus, but not required.
Time Commitment:
Monthly meetings (1–1.5 hours each).
Additional time as needed for event preparation and day-of support.
