About this opportunity

The Kingman Area Literacy Program (KALP) is a 100% volunteer run organization providing 100% free tutoring for adults and children in the Kingman, Arizona area. We help with adult basic literacy, GED test prep, English language learning, and reading for kids.
The Director represents KALP and facilitates program services. Typical duties include:
- Volunteer Management including recruitment, onboarding, training, placement, tutor/learner matching process, and support.
- Participant Oversight including recruitment, assessment, placement, and monitoring progress.
- Financial Management including preparing and managing an annual budget, evaluating and pursuing donations, grants, etc., and purchasing supplies and services.
- Outreach & Partnership Development through creating and maintaining relationships with literacy organizations, nonprofits, governmental agencies, schools, programs, etc. through community events, public meetings, presentations, and direct communication through email, Zoom, and phone.
- Marketing KALP through social media, press releases, flyers and brochures, preparing and distributing an annual report, etc.
Support Team
When staffed, the Director may delegate responsibilities to the following organizational support volunteers including:
-Volunteer Coordinator
-Learner Coordinator
-Outreach Coordinator
-Small Group Tutoring Coordinator
-English Language Learning Coordinator
-GED Tutoring Coordinator
Skills & Requirements
A successful Director will:
-Dedicate an average of 5-7 hours per week to KALP responsibilities.
-Feel comfortable working with people from a wide-range of demographics and life experiences, including people who could have language, intellectual, mental, or educational barriers.
-Have verbal communication skills and a willingness to regul
