Ontario Promise Corps - Promise Scholars Advisor

The City of Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a highly responsible, motivated individual passionate about serving the community to join the team as an Ontario Promise Corps Promise Scholars Advisor. This position will ensure that students develop academic mindsets that contribute to college-going behaviors, gain the information and skills necessary to explore the full range of college options, and then enroll and attend college. Selected members are expected to contribute to internal learnings around effective student engagement, texting campaigns, and data management practices to help Promise Scholars collaborate with counselors, teachers, and administrators; devise creative approaches to reach and connect with students and families; and play an integral role in changing the lives of the students they serve.This position is grant funded. While this position will work alongside the City of Ontario, it isNOT considered a City of Ontario position. Therefore, the successful incumbents will not be considered City employees and are not eligible for city-sponsored benefits. In lieu of City-sponsored benefits, successful incumbents are eligible for a program-funded benefit package that includes healthcare, childcare (space is limited), and mileage reimbursement for the duration of their assignment. An Education Award (valuedup to $10,000) is awarded to those incumbents who successfully complete all required service hours.
