The Donkeys of the Heart is a nonprofit organization providing individualized Equine-Assisted Services with donkeys for children and adolescents facing mental health, emotional, developmental, and behavioral challenges. Our programs include Adaptive Riding and Equine-Assisted Learning, designed to support these populations through a safe, structured, and ethical environment.
Donkeys possess a unique ability to connect with humans through their calm presence, sensitivity, intelligence, and authenticity. Their natural way of interacting encourages trust, emotional grounding, nonverbal communication, and self-regulation, making them remarkable partners for children and adolescents facing emotional or mental health challenges.
Located in Cave Creek, Arizona, The Donkeys of the Heart is an innovative and growing organization seeking experienced professionals who value excellence, integrity, and meaningful community impact.
We are currently looking for volunteers with expertise into support in the following areas:
Donkey Care
Finance and bookkeeping
Marketing and strategic development
Public Relations and media outreach
Social Media management and communication
This is an opportunity to contribute professional skills to a unique and high-quality program dedicated to supporting young populations through an uncommon and deeply impactful model of Equine-Assisted Services with donkeys.
