Spend your Saturday morning doing something meaningful and fun by delivering furniture, household essentials, and a warm welcome to newly arrived refugee families. You’ll help transport household items, unload furniture, unpack essentials, and help set up a warm space for a family’s fresh start. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to meet fellow volunteers and welcome our newest neighbors. Be part of something special by turning houses into homes and strangers into neighbors. Volunteers must have reliable transportation. We welcome children 8 years or older, and all volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by their parent or guardian.
About The Welcome to America Project
The Welcome to America Project (WTAP) supplies household essentials, clothing, bikes, books, and resources to families that have been resettled in Arizona through the Refugee resettlement process. We collect high quality furniture and household items from donors throughout Phoenix and, with a dedicated group of local volunteers, we deliver these furnishings to refugee families who have recently arrived to the U.S. Since 2001, WTAP has proudly welcomed more than 25,000 refugees from over 50 countries, helping them begin new lives with dignity and hope. Through meaningful connections and essential resources, we empower our newest neighbors to achieve self-sufficiency and add to the strength and vibrancy of our community.
