Flower and Meal Deliveries to Hospice Families

This project consists of a hospice volunteer delivering a bouquet of flowers to a bereaved family within a couple of weeks of their loved one's death. Flowers will be picked up at a local florist whose office is a block from the hospice office.We also need flower deliverers throughout the summer to deliver bouquets arranged by Flower Powervolunteers.Delivery volunteers may also deliver meals and food to families.

OhioHealth HomeReach Hospice in Athens serves Athens, Hocking, Meigs, and Vinton Counties in Ohio. Hospice offers nurses, home care aides, social workers, and volunteers to make the final months of the terminally ill as comfortable, as pain-free, and as fulfilling as possible.Volunteers are an integral part of the Interdisciplinary Hospice Team and are treated and trained as unpaid employees. We have a volunteer coordinator who oversees and nurtures our volunteer program.
