The REED Center is a non-profit that is developing food forests across the region. In the next 6 months we will be planting numerous food forests in the nearby area and caring for our existing headquarters, 150+ acre site called Morning View Food Forest.Anyone looking to try/learn/take part in a a diverse range of tasks can find them here. Projects we'll be working on include:Nursery developmentGrafting and plant propagationPlanting trees and shrubsTree and shrub maintenance (mulching, replacing tree shelters, removing vines or aggressive plants)Trail maintenance and buildingFence repairInvasive plant removalHarvesting and processing berries, herbs, fruits and nutsBuilding simple structuresHarvesting firewood and building materialsWatch our video to learn more: Check out our HQ at Morning View Food ForestWe occasionally work in areas with thorny plants, so please wear work clothing. We also recommend bringing layers as temperature shifts can be dramatic.Many of our activities require gloves. If you have work gloves, please bring them, otherwise we can provide some. Also, please where water resistant shoes if you have them. Working with wet feet from rain or morning dew is not fun.
