Make a difference in the lives of young girls this fall as a Girls on the Run of Greater Richmond Coach!We are looking for coaches for the fall 2025 season of Girls on the Run!Girls on the Run is a girl-empowerment organization, for girls grades 3-8, that inspires participants to be joyful, healthy, and confident using evidence-based lessons that combine relationship building, community strengthening, and goal setting with physical movement.Applications are currently being accepted! Each season Girls on the Run of Greater Richmond recruits and selects a dynamic group of coaches to lead each of our teams of around 15 girls. Coaches are parents, teachers, school administrators, college students, and other community members who are committed to developing and celebrating our girls.Who is A GOTR Coach? GOTR coaches are enthusiastic, dedicated, and positive women and men of all different backgrounds! Some are athletes and some are not; many have never coached before. All are committed to empowering girls with valuable life lessons and skill sets to help them navigate their world and grow healthily and confidently.Coach responsibilities and commitment:As a coach, you will: help girls grow their confidence, stand up for themselves, and give back to their communities. We welcome you to help to uplift and strengthen the next generation of girls.Teams meet twice a week for about 75-90mins (usually Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays) after school during the 10 week season. Teams do not meet on days that school is not in session (Thanksgiving break, snow day, e.g.). We also support community teams that meet from 5 - 6:30pm twice weekly, usually at a park. About GIRLS ON THE RUN OF GREATER RICHMOND
Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd through 8th grade. We teach critical life skills through dynamic interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event.The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime of appreciation of health and fitness.
