Farm Animal Volunteers

Do you have hands-on experience working with animals and love the farm atmosphere? Are you great at interacting with the public? Then consider volunteering with the WNC Nature Center Farm Animals!There are available weekly Farm Animal shifts on:Tuesday 2:00-4:00Wednesday 2:00 - 4:00Friday 12:00 - 2:00Tasks Include:Working directly with the farm animalsKeeping the area clean by sweeping up stool throughout the dayEducating the public about goat, sheep, and donkey speciesEnsuring guests adhere to safety guidelines including using hand sanitizer and not climbing into the enclosure with the animalsPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift 30 lbs.Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas using the spoken wordHearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levelsVisual acuity is required for determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activitiesVolunteers are subject to adverse environmental conditionsMust be comfortable working outdoors and around insects
