The primary goal of an archives internship at the Historical Center of York County is that interns will gain a better understanding of what it means to work in an archives or research library, leaving with skills that will better prepare them for careers in the field. This primary goal is accomplished by focusing on 4 secondary goals of archival internships at the Historical Center of York County:Interns will gain valuable experience with arranging and describing incoming archival collections.Interns will be given the opportunity to learn how donations are processed.Interns will gain experience with cataloguing archival materials.Interns will gain technological skills specific to the discipline, better preparing them for the job market.The Archives Specialist will work directly with Archives Interns to accomplish the above goals by completing meaningful projects during their scheduled work days.
