About this opportunity

Being a caregiver is 24/7 and very exhausting.By providing a meal to the family you can help ease the stress on the caregiver. Some patients still live alone and want to maintain independence for as long as possibe. Cooking is one of the areas that often suffers- since the patient may have lack of energy or finances.We need individuals or groups who enjoy cooking to help proivde meals or snacks for our patients and their families.Our staff will deliver these goods to the patients and families.Caris has program called Threads of Grace, family members gives us a couple of pieces of clothing to sew into a lap blanket or a teddy bear for a keepsake. We have volunteers who can teach you how to sew stuff animals.Lap blankets and quilts are often needed because the patient get cold easily or have limited bedding.Activities blankets or known as fidget blankets are a great way to easy stress for a bedbound or wheelchair bound patient. This also lets a patient know there is someone out there thinking of them and taking the time to create a special gift for them.
