About this opportunity

An integral component of our care is having empathetic Volunteers. These individuals have theability to understand and share the feelings of someone who is experiencing loss. These specialVolunteers know firsthand how much it means for someone to simply be there for them.Sometimes the family and caregivers are struggling more than the individual receiving hospicecare, and those that have experienced the loss of a loved one are very much aware of this. Justbeing there for them shows you care, and it means so much!I am reaching out to you today to see if you would be interested in using your experiences tohelp others. There are many ways you can do this, both directly and indirectly. Our volunteeropportunities have a positive impact on those we serve.Some of our volunteer opportunities include:Patient visits for companionship and supportSpending time with patients while their family runs errandsAssisting with household chores or errandsSupporting patients and families in the patient’s last hoursProviding veteran to veteran supportProviding specialized services such as pet therapy with appropriate documentations.Making tuck-in phone calls to patients or their family to make sure they have supplies,Assisting with bereavement program tasks, bereavement support groups, andmemorial servicesAssisting with administrative or clerical tasks in the office such as answering telephones,assisting with mailings, putting together packets or training manuals, and more▪ Teens between the ages of 16—17 may also volunteer in the office withadministrative tasks.Working on special projects such as making quilts, blankets, fidget aprons, birthdaycakes, or cards, and moreSharing some of your time and your heart with those in need is so helpful and appreciated!
