About this opportunity

Make a meaningful difference on your own schedule by driving cancer patients to lifesaving treatment. The best treatment can't work if a patient can't get there.
Volunteers with Road To Recovery use their personal vehicle to drive patients with limited or no transportation to cancer-related treatment appointments. Drivers are encouraged to provide both the ride to treatment and the ride back home, but all rides are listed in one-way segments for flexibility.Drivers can run errands, grab a coffee, or wait if providing the roundtrip.
Rides are weekdays. You choose the rides that work with your schedule. We encourage drivers to provide 1-2 rides per month.
Volunteer drivers are ages 18-84 with
A safe driving record
A current license
A reliable vehicle and vehicle insurance
After completing online training and background check, volunteers review available rides online.
The mission of the American Cancer Society is to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support, to ensure everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.
Location note: the pick up and drop off addresses are provided in the ride notifications.

Minimum age: 18.
