Veteran Volunteers Needed for Hospice PatientsAre you a veteran looking to give back in a meaningful way? We are seeking veteran volunteers to support fellow veterans receiving hospice care. These patients deeply appreciate the unique bond and understanding that only a fellow service member can offer.Many of our veteran patients enjoy:Reminiscing on the porchSharing stories and camaraderiePlaying cards or pokerSmall talk and companionshipHaving someone read to them (some have vision impairments)Just your presence can bring comfort, dignity, and even joy—helping them forget, if only for a while, the weight of their illness.Volunteer Requirements:Background checkDrug screenTB testingValid state-issued IDAuto insurance (if you plan to drive)12 hours of annual educationA commitment of just 5 to 6 hours per monthYou can make a powerful difference. Veterans Needed for hospice patients!Thank you for your service first off!Thank you for checking our opportunities in WARREN, DEKALB, and VAN BUREN counties.Veterans needed to:Visit veterans for companionship.Veteran pin ceremony (private & public events).Veteran Cafe in different locations.Our veteran volunteers visit other veterans during a hard season of life and it gives them another opportunity to let go or come to terms with their service time(s). Veterans share more while in the company of other veterans.Our volunteers are vetted the same as employees as we are in an industry of healthcare.
