About this opportunity

Overview: We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic, and motivated Park Hosts to join the team at Palo Pinto Mountains State Park! We are the newest state park in Texas with brand new facilities, utilities, campsites, and 15 miles of trails. Our park covers 4,871-acres of the Palo Pinto Mountain Range and includes Tucker Lake, two creeks, and sits next door to the railroad. As a Park Host, you will serve as a valuable member of the Palo Pinto team by assisting with day-to-day functions in maintaining our facilities and offering our guests outstanding customer service.This position's primary focus is to assist the park's front office team in performing routine administrative tasks. Duties may include but are not limited to checking in campers and day-use visitors, handling money, complying with fiscal control standards, giving directions to visitors when entering the park, cleaning headquarters, and giving quality customer service. Duties offered to Park Hosts are dependent on Park needs and skills of the volunteer. Other duties may be assigned as neededRequired Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older. A criminal background check is required.Preferred Qualifications: Experience with basic money handling and administrative programs in state parks or other camping facilities. A commitment to protecting the Park's natural and cultural resources and educating visitors on their part in conservation of those resources.
