About this opportunity

Medi Home Health and Hospice is looking for caring and passionate individuals to join our interdisciplinary team to provide services to patients and their families with terminal illnesses and/or provide support to the Hospice Program in Alleghany, Wilkes, Surry, Yadkin Counties.Volunteers provide services related to:Direct Patient Care - Companionship, Family Respite, 11th Hour Vigils.Administrative Duties - Filing Records, Data Entry, Bereavement Support, Patient Information Packets.Special Projects - Craft Projects, Holiday Caroling, Assisting with Memorial Events.Help make a difference in the lives of our patients and community!

A volunteer may run errands or simply provide companionship to patients, as well as intervals of rest for caregivers. We depend on our hospice volunteers to assist us in providing compassionate support and care to our patients and their loved ones during this difficult time in their lives.Our volunteers offer support, companionship and practical care to our patients. Whether it’s running errands, sitting with a patient to provide relief for the care giver, reading to a patient, helping a patient write in his/her journal or providing the power of presence.
