IT Support for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) uses certified volunteers to assist those with low and moderate-income in preparing and submitting their income tax returns. We have approximately 20 laptops and 6 printers that are used by multiple volunteers from January through April. We are looking for a volunteer to join our IT support and maintenance team. Tasks include:Installing updates to operating system, drivers and software on all laptops in January in preparation for use during the tax seasonEnsuring appropriate security precautions on each laptop throughout tax seasonMaintaining an inventory of computer equipmentProviding troubleshooting via phone or site visits as needed during tax seasonChecking equipment setup and status at site as neededUpdating content on Google website
About Orange County Department on Aging - VITA
The Orange County Department on Aging’s VC 55+ program has sponsored VITA sites for over 20 years. We recruit and train volunteers to prepare federal and state taxes for those with low and moderate incomes, saving an average of $220 each in tax preparation fees.
