The order fulfillment specialist goes to the equipment storage location at Atrium Myers Park clinic on their day. Once there, he/she unlocks the storage room, takes out the requested equipment (e.g., manual wheelchair, shower chair, etc.) , marks it with the patient’s name and puts it in the nearby Equipment Pickup Room. They then call the patient or case manager to inform them that the equipment is ready for pickup. About Assist ME
Assist ME takes in gently used medical equipment, such as standard manual wheelchairs, bedside commodes, tub transfer benches, shower chairs, etc. ), clean them up and gift them to low income, uninsured patients. When patients have this type of equipment, they fall less often and are readmitted to hospitals less often.
