The volunteer doing Donated Equipment Pick Up goes to donor's home to pick up donated equipment and brings it back to storage for later cleaning and gifting.The volunteer receives a text asking if they can make an appointment with the donor to go pick up the equipment. Sometimes the equipment is brought to Assist ME and the volunteer then simply goes to the storage place to meet the donor there. If the volunteer says yes, the can da it, they will receive:The list of equipment to be picked upThe donor nameThe phone number to call to make the appointment.After the volunteer picks up the equipment, they take it to one of our storage locations in Charlotte.

Assist ME takes in gently used medical equipment, such as standard manual wheelchairs, bedside commodes, tub transfer benches, shower chairs, etc. ), clean them up and gift them to low income, uninsured patients.
