Are you looking for a fun volunteer opportunity that puts a smile on everyone's face?Anchor Of Hope Hospice is searching for compassionate pet therapy volunteers who are interested in visiting hospice patients where they call home, whether in a residential setting or a healthcare community. If you have a certified therapy animal and are looking to make a difference in the lives of patients diagnosed with a terminal illness, you have come to the right place! Animal visits not only bring happiness, but research has shown that pet interactions can decrease isolation and depression. reduce the symptoms of anxiety, improve pain and stabilize blood pressure and even improve sleep.You must be able to introduce your pet and engage in conversation with the patient and their families.
