Help travelers have incredible and organized travel experiences! We are looking for locals to work the Information Desk at HI Chicago. Info Desk Volunteers will work 3 hour shifts when we are most busy: during the morning and during check-in in the evening.WHY VOLUNTEER WITH HI USA?Meet new people from all over the world, including travelers, staff, and fellow volunteersHelp bring people together and facilitate cultural exchangeBuild skills in public speaking, foreign languages, intercultural communication, and moreEarn HI USA membership and overnights at HI USA hostelsTraining provided and flexible scheduleHave fun while making a difference!PURPOSE/DEFINITION and HI USA MISSIONHI USA is 501(c)(3) non-profit education association. Our purpose is to "inspire a deeper understanding of people places and cultures for a more tolerant world." As a non-profit, the revenues we receive through overnight stays and memberships is reinvested in mission delivery.SCHEDULE:Info Desk Volunteers will work 3 hour shifts when the hostel is busiest: during the morning and during check-in in the evening. Currently available shifts are listed on our website, hiusa.org/volunteer. Shifts are flexible by an hour (5pm-8pm, for example). You will have a chance to sign up for one or multiple days per week. This is a recurring shift (ie, you would be the "Tuesday night volunteer" for as long as your schedule permits).
