Role Overview:The Care Team Hospice is seeking volunteers to provide support to our patients and their families. As a hospice volunteer, you play a crucial role in providing comfort and compassion during a challenging time. Responsibilities may include:Companionship: Reading books, playing music, playing cards, crafts, painting nails, going for walks, or attending facility eventsSupport: Engaging in conversations, empathetic listening, offering comfort, or simply sitting quietly, providing a reassuring presenceCaregiver Respite: Providing relief for family members and caregivers by staying with the patient, allowing them to take breaks, attend appointments, or tend to personal needs.*Volunteers do not to perform medical treatment of any kind.*Training and Support:Receive training in hospice care principles and ongoing support from our team to ensure you feel prepared and confident in your role.Time Commitment:Flexible hours to fit your schedule, typically a couple of hours a week. You choose the times that work best for you!Requirements:Background CheckTB TestMust be at least 18We also have opportunities for vigil volunteering, certified pet therapy, and veteran to veteran volunteering!
