About this opportunity

As we prepare for the big day of Coats for Kids 2025, we need a lot of partners to help us with sorting and organizing as well as set up. Our sorting and organizing crews will help us sort coats, check tags, etc., on the following dates from 10am-1pm at a warehouse located at 5102 East 500 South in Whitestown: (please note we will contact individuals signed up if we need to adjust dates and shift times)September 10, 17 and 24October 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29November 3 and 4All volunteers must be at least 16 years of age to help at the warehouse, and those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times during this volunteer role. Please note due to the Coats for Kids event being held later this year if we don't have a lot of coats to sort through in September we have an Angel Tree inventory project for any of those dates. Our set up crews will help us setup tables, place coats on racks, organize hats/gloves/scarves on tables, etc., to make sure all of our donations are ready for distribution and the space is ready for the big day at the Indiana State Fairgrounds:November 5 from 2-6pmNovember 6 from 9am-12pm (shift is full) and 1-4pmNovember 7 from 9am-12pmThis is a great opportunity for groups to help make a huge impact on the event - we have a lot of coats to give away, and we need your help to get them in the hands of children and families in our community! All volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times at the state fairgrounds during this volunteer role.If you would like to sign up as an individual or as a group and do not have a volunteer account, please contact Kathy Dalla Costa directly at the office at 317-224-1010 or kathy.dallacosta@usc.salvationarmy.org.

About The Salvation Army of Central Indiana

Using both paid staff and volunteers, we repond to disasters locally, nationally and internationally. Moreover, we repond to individual plights within Indiana whether the circumstances involve domestic violence, substance abuse, at risk children, homelessness, joblessness and other situations where people need help and training. We have multiple programs and service-specific centers in and around Indiana. We have special events as fundraisers, donation collections and to increase awareness. "Need knows no season" so we are in constant pursuit of finding ways to make a difference and offer the gift of God's love.
