About this opportunity

Volunteers will spend the first 2.5 hours of their time supporting Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter's daily operations by assisting with laundry, dishes, sweeping and mopping, and possibly litter pan cleaning. Volunteers will also be disinfecting/sanitizing windows as well as countertops, surfaces, etc. At times, volunteers may be outdoors helping rake leaves or shoveling snow around dogs' exercise pens if the need arises. This is vital help prevent dogs from eating anything thing that may lead to a tummy ache.
During the last 30 minutes, the shelter welcomes volunteers to spend quality time with their adoptable cats and sometimes dogs. Socializing with the cats in the shelter's care is important for their health, wellness, and adoptability. Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter welcomes volunteers to spend quality time with their adoptable cats.;
Need-To-Know
Volunteers will receive a brief orientation/training upon arrival.
Volunteers should wear clothes they are comfortable working in.
Being flexible is a plus as tasks may change based on necessity.
