About this opportunity

We are looking for an individual with a positive attitude and passion about dogs and our cause to help co-chair our 501c3 non-profit organization's fundraisers! We host 3 fundraising events annually, and we also attend 5-6 community/booth events and an online & mail capital campaign throughout the year. This position is volunteer-based and is a 12 month term/commitment. Hours per month vary, with about 5-10 hours per month 3+ months out from a fundraiser, 10-15 hours per month 2+ months out, 20-25 hours month of event then MUST volunteer day-before and day-of event. 1 hour in-person meeting in our Rochester, MI office per month then rest of time can be virtual. Attend Foundation Events Committee meetingsHelp develop Events Committee and Publicity CommitteeContact local media about our Events and Donation Presentations- Rochester Chamber of Commerce, Troy Patch, Shelby News, local radio stations/news outlets, etc. Social Media Marketing- Facebook, Youtube & InstagramMarketing Events to past and prospective participants- Email list on MailchimpPosting Volunteer jobs on various websites- Idealist and BenevityCoordinate, assign and communicate with volunteers for eventsand Foundation CommitteesResearch companies for Sponsorship/Donations OpportunitiesInvolved in Creative Marketing ProcessAttend Fundraising events to volunteerPass out flyers for Fundraising Events to local businesses andevent sponsorsAssist with prep and running Fundraising EventsAssist PLEA Foundation Rep. with various Sponsorship/Donationstasks Requirements:Passionate about working K9's (dogs) and their line of workExperience with Corporate and/or Non-profit fundraiser coordinationExperience with Social Media Marketing on YouTube, Facebook and InstagramExperience with Email marketing with MailchimpCustomer

About PLEA FOUNDATION INC

We are a 501c3 non-profit foundation started in 2014 and based in Rochester, MI aimed at supporting law enforcement officers, including K9 officers, by offering them much needed equipment and departmental training that otherwise may not be afforded to them. Our current initiative is raising funds to purchase K9 bullet-proof vests for K9 Officers in the Metro Detroit area.If you have signed up to volunteer, you will be notified via email to confirm and be given more information.
