FoDACC Board RolesJob Descriptions for 2025 Open Board PositionsFriends of Detroit Animal Care and Control (FoDACC) is seeking compassionate, committed individuals to join our volunteer Board of Directors. The following roles are currently open. All board members work collaboratively to support our mission of helping Detroit's animals and community, and most roles do not necessarily require a background in animal welfare. However, the final two roles listed would particularly benefit from animal rescue experience and familiarity with FoDACC.We recognize that not every candidate will meet every qualification listed in the job description. You may be a great fit for this role—or for another opportunity within our organization.PresidentThe President leads the Board of Directors and ensures that the organization remains aligned with its mission, strategic priorities, and fiduciary responsibilities. This role acts as the face of the organization and works closely with the Executive Director and other board members to ensure effective collaboration and performance.Key Responsibilities:Lead and facilitate board meetings and strategic planning sessionsOversee board structure, policies, and operationsEnsure legal and financial compliance in partnership with the TreasurerMentor and support board members in their rolesRepresent FoDACC in partnerships, donor conversations, and community initiativesCollaborate on marketing, branding, and fundraising strategiesIdeal Skills:Leadership and governance experienceStrong communication and facilitation abilitiesStrategic thinker with organizational awarenessFor more information: https://www.friendsofdacc.org/b

Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control exists to support Detroit Animal Care and Control in the areas of volunteer management, donation solicitation and acceptance, and live release, which includes shelter intervention. Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control is committed to saving animals' lives, ensuring equal access to companion animals for those of all socio-economic levels, and raising the level of care for animals living in the city of Detroit. We work hand in hand with Detroit Animal Care and Control to help the homeless animals at DACC and proactively keep animals out of our shelter in the first place.
