As the College Advising Lead, you'll be a key resource for the team of College Advisors, guiding them through readiness in junior year and the college application process in senior year. You will oversee the progress of students as they build their college lists, research schools, and navigate financial aid. A key part of your role is to provide guidance to the College Advisors on how to effectively track student progress and ensure they meet key milestones. You will also work with nationals to understand common tools for tracking progress. While not required, a background in the college admissions landscape is a plus as it will help you provide guidance and support to our students.
About Minds Matter of Detroit
Minds Matter brings bright and motivated high school students together with dedicated mentors to help them achieve academic excellence, expand educational horizons and ultimately gain acceptance to college. This is accomplished in a 3-year program that includes 32 Saturday sessions (half academic and half mentoring) per year and 2 Summer program.There are three program components that differentiate Minds Matter from other organizations: academic instruction, individualized mentoring support, and summer enrichment programs.
