About this opportunity

In a nutshell: Our Corner Store Volunteers help connect patrons to much-needed resources, including fresh food, hygiene and household items, and more! The Corner Store is a free resource for both Corner patients and the community, at large. The Corner Store Volunteer will manage the overall functioning of the Corner Store during their shift.Time Commitment:At least 3-4 hrs/wk. This is a weekly shift - the same day and time each week - ideally with intention of staying for at least 6 weeks or more. We are not open on weekends.Duties: Tasks may vary depending on which shift is being worked.Assist patrons with their shopping experience in the Corner StoreRecord and enter traffic data into Linktofeed databaseMaintain accurate inventory, organize and restock itemsPromote Corner programs, services, and relevant community resourcesSign in and out of the volunteer hours trackerOther responsibilities and projects, as neededQualifications:Must be 18+ years of ageGood communication and customer service skillsMaintaining privacy and confidentiality of all personal informationStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to stand, lift, walk and bend, and go up and down stairsPhysical capability to lift up to 20lbs. Accommodations can be made, as neededComfortable working with people of varying sexual, gender, racial, and socioeconomic backgroundsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionTraining:Volunteer orientation paperworkIn-person training/shadowing with the Volunteer Coordinator1 shift available:Currently in need of Monday or Wednesday afternoon coverage: shift times can be 1-5pm, 2-5pm, or 1-4pm.: 13:00 to 16:45 EST
