About this opportunity

The Weekend Emergency Food Pantry program offered by Church of the Covenant provides free groceries and other necessities to Greater Boston residents in urgent need. This ministry was developed by the church in response to widespread necessity, and the fact that many other food pantries are closed on the weekends.
The Food Pantry serves low-income residents in Greater Boston. Volunteers will work as a team of two to register clients and offer them a selection of groceries to take home. Volunteers will also help restock the shelves and break down empty boxes.
Volunteers will need to have the ability to carry boxes of food approximately 30 lbs. Volunteers who speak Cantonese are highly encouraged to sign up!
MBTA Line Accessibility: Arlington or Copley on the Green Line
At Boston Cares, we recognize that diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental values that guide our mission and work. Boston Cares is committed to creating a community where everyone is valued, respected, and can come and participate as their authentic selves. We expect that all volunteers and partners join us in promoting a safe and supportive space for everyone.

Minimum age: 18.
