Veteran Hospice Visitors Needed

Military Veterans, Spring's a great time to try something new. Veterans, Only You Understand. You are needed to visit your fellow Veterans!Visit Samaritan's veteran hospice patients and families in their homes or in long-term care facilities in your local community throughout Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Mercer, & Atlantic Counties. Support our patients and their family through companionship, sharing military experiences, sharing stories, attending medal ceremonies, performing life review, reading, playing cards and games, acting as a friend or neighbor. Volunteers visit once a week for 2-4 hours and do not provide any hands-on care. Must be at least 18 years old. No experience or healthcare background needed. Training is provided. We ask that all volunteers bring the following qualities to their work at Samaritan: good communication and listening skills, a nonjudgmental attitude, reliability, flexibility, and compassion.
Please note: All who have experienced the loss of a significant family member or friend must wait 3 months from date of loss to begin the volunteer process.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum Age: 18.
- One-year commitment.
- Volunteer Orientation and Training.
- Some medical requirements
