About this opportunity

Sanctuary Hospice is looking for enthusiastic and compassionate Volunteers-like you! Our Volunteers provide companionship and socialization to patients along with respite for their loved ones when they need it most! This gives them a much needed break. With Social Isolation at an all time high, it's the commitment of our volunteers that our patients rely on to brighten their day. Visit one-on-one (if permissible), send cards of encouragement, visit virtually or make check in phone calls with patients and families to provide support. We have patients across the Northeast Ohio area...from Lorain, Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Trumbull Mahoning & Ashtabula and as far south as Columbiana County.Volunteers are crucial to the hospice experience and a vital part of our team of caregivers. Hospice Volunteers come from all walks of life, yet they all share a common desire-to enrich their own lives and the lives of others by giving generously of their time, energy and talents. Volunteers are an integral part of our hospice team. Once trained they may work in several areas: Administrative, Direct Patient Care Visitation for companionship and support, Bereavement support, Pet therapy, Music Therapy and many other Special Alternative Complementary services.
