Respite Volunteer Come to the rescue of a hospice patient family in need of a much-needed break. As aRespite Volunteer, you will offer the gift of time to family members who face the challengeof daily caregiving. You will sit with patients and allow caregivers the chance to take abreak, run errands, take a nap, etc. A respite stay with a hospice patient typically willtypically last, but not exceed, 2-4 hours.Here at Optimal Care, we want to support family members who may be struggling during astressful and strenuous time in their lives. Optimal Care Hospice provides quality care anywhere our patients reside. The Hospice team, led by a dedicated RN case manager and overseen by a Physician, helps our Patients and their Family make informed decisions about care choices and options. Our Volunteer Program provides an integrated and comprehensive system of volunteer programs that enhance and augment the services of Hospice staff.Volunteer Services in areas of Hospice include:Clerical Support - bulk mail preparation, creating admission packets and much moreCompanion Care - providing companionship to Patients and respite to their family in the home.Bereavement Services - providing emotional support to Family members or friends for 13 months following a patient’s death.Spiritual Care - providing spiritual and emotional support to Patients and Families.Our volunteers are here to meet the needs of our patients and families, assist our staff, and support the needs of the agency.
